Dr. Daniel Medalie, MD is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the Cleveland area who has been performing gender-affirming surgery since 1996.
In terms of bottom surgery, Medalie offers the Simple Metoidioplasty or Simple Release procedure, which is a good option for those who do not require Vaginectomy or Urethroplasty. By releasing the hormonally enlarged clitoris from the hood and cutting the ligament that holds it under the pubic bone, the entire penile structure is freed of surrounding tissues. Scrotoplasty and Testicular Implants are optional. Additionally, a Mons Resection can be performed, which removes fat from the pubic mound to expose the penis more.

Dr. Medalie offers phone and in-person consultations for a fee of $65. This fee is applied toward your surgery fee if you proceed. The average wait time for a surgery date is currently 3-4 months.

- Smokers must quit at least 6 weeks prior to surgery.
