Steps to Getting a Metoidioplasty Surgery Date
Your free initial consultation with Dr. Schechter can be done by phone. An in-person consultation is required before proceeding with surgery. If paying out-of-pocket, the $100 consultation fee will be applied towards your Metoidioplasty.
Wait time for surgery dates is typically within 2-3 months of your consult.
If you're traveling from out of town to for your surgery, be sure to ask Dr. Schechter's staff about reduced pricing for area hotels as well as ground transportation from your hotel to hospital and/or office.

Dr. Schechter accepts CareCredit. He also accepts Medicare and insurance. He has an insurance specialist on his team who can assist you with obtaining pre-cert/predetermination.
Requirements for Metoidioplasty
Dr. Schechter is a member of WPATH and follows surgery guidelines in the Standards of Care. You will require medical evaluation by primary MD or MD providing hormones and a letter of recommendation from a psychologist or other mental health professional.
